Released originally in 1977, Works Volume 1 marked a turning point for ELP, reaching #12 on the Billboard album chart. The double LP included solo recordings by all three members, with a fourth side of band recordings. Emerson's side featured a classical piano piece, Lake's side contained concise pop songs, including the hit "C'est La Vie," and Palmer used his side to rock out, inviting Joe Walsh to play lead guitar on one track. The final side showcased ELP on Copland's "Fanfare For The Common Man" and a new original. This 2 CD set has been remastered from the Original Master Tapes.
